Where to watch the fireworks in Tampa-Channelside District

Buzz down to Tampa's Channelside District to toast the Fourth of July.

At 9PM, you'll get the chance to see one of the region's most spectacular fireworks displays exploding in a blur of color and sound over Old Hillsborough Bay.

Enough visitors flock to Channelside ahead of time -- to down a few drinks at Margarita Mama's, or enjoy dinner at Stump's Supper Club -- to give the big night a decidedly festive atmosphere.

If you're traveling with the kids, you may want to take advantage of a special deal offered by the Florida Aquarium. On Independence Day, you can get in for only $10 a head. And the venue's Explore-A-Shore will stay open late, giving you a great view of the fireworks.

While many revelers are thrilled to join the mobs in the Channelside District, this event is also great for those who enjoy a lower-key celebration. The fireworks are visible from much of South Tampa's Bayshore Boulevard. So, if you're a South Tampa resident who doesn't feel like bucking the crowds, just hook up with your buddies, take a gentle stroll down the Bayshore, and enjoy the show. -- Laura Spinale
